500 litres of Kangara were impounded on an operation against illicit brew that was conducted along the banks of river Athi in Katani location, Mavoko sub-county, Machakos county.
Addressing journalists after the raid, Mlolongo Division Assistant commissioner Kennedy Kirago said that he conducted the raid after a tip off from Katani location chief and some members of the public.
Kigaro disclosed that although the raid was successful, no suspect was arrested since they fled leaving behind the illicit brew.
However, he warned illicit brewers that their days are numbered and one day one time they will face the law.
"Sooner or later as long as you are an illicit brewer the long arm of law will catch up with you," said Kigaro.
In Mwala sub-county, a 45 year old woman is held at Masii police station after she was arrested with fifty litres of illicit brew in Ngomano area.
The raid in her home was conducted by Mwala location chief Peter Maingi, Kyawango location chief and Mianyani sub location subchief who succeeded in nabbing the woman before she could get away.
Mwala location chief Peter Maingi said that he has come to realise that many illicit brewers are old men and women as it was last week where a 55 year old woman was arrested with 40 litres of illicit brew.
He however promised to raid every corner of the area until all brewing dens are brought down.
