On Wednesday, a statement from the airline indicated that $100 million (Sh10, 238,983,456) have been set aside to compensate the families of all those who perished following the tragic incident.

The amount will be disbursed to various governments as well as non-profit organizations to cater for the needs of the affected families as they cope with the loss of their loved ones following the incident that shook the world.

Justin Green, a New York-based attorney, lauded the move saying that the airline has set a good example.

“If the money is spent on furthering the work of the people on that airplane, it would be money well spent,” said Green according to Reuters.

The new development comes at a time when the airline is seeking for ways to regain its lost glory after different nations questioned its operations as far as safety is concerned. Boeing has suffered two major crashes in a period of five months leaving many questions behind.

Both crashes claimed 346 lives.

In the recent past, the families of the victims were decrying neglect after their efforts to be compensated proved futile.

They have filed several cases in court in pursuit of justice.
