Veteran Swedish scuba diver Volker Bassen has showered the Kenyan people with praises.
In an exclusive interview with Kenya Television Network (KTN) on Thursday, Mr Bassen said that the Kenyan people are the best in the world in a nod to Kenya's famed culture of hospitality.
He revealed that he came to the country in the 90s and immediately fell in love with the country, its people and their culture.
"I came here in 1990, Kenya, I mean, it's the best move I ever made. I love Kenya. I am married to a Kenyan wife and I think the Kenyan people are the most brilliant people in the world to be honest, " Mr Bassen said.
The Swedish diver said that he had trained scores of divers in Kenya and other places around the world including the Maldives.
He has offered to help in the ongoing recovery effort aimed at retrieving the bodies of Mariam Kighendi and Amanda Mutheu who perished in a freak accident at the Likoni ferry.
Given the wealth of experience that he has under his belt, Mr Bassen held out the confidence that he would be able to recover the ill-fated vehicle in which the two victims are trapped within a matter of hours.
