Two minors on Tuesday testified before a Nakuru Court how a man killed their mother and grandfather during a robbery incident.
The 12-year-old girl together with her 8-year-old sister positively identified the accused, Simon Sigei, as the one who committed the crime on the night of February 12, 2019, in Rongai, Nakuru County.
She told the court that she was sleeping when she heard her mother scream and she rushed to switch the lights on only to find the accused attacking her mother.
“The suspect was holding an iron rod on the head of my mother as she screamed for help. He hit her several times and mum started bleeding profusely,” said the minor as quoted by Standard Digital
She further said that her grandfather who was lying in a pool of blood in his bed was breathing heavily after he was also attacked.
The minor told Nakuru Principal Magistrate Faith Munyi that she tried to hide but she was pulled from under the bed and the suspect ordered her to get money from her mother and grandfather’s pockets and handbags.
Later on, the man took her to another bedroom after tying both her hands and legs with shoelaces then sexually assaulted her.
“After he defiled me, he switched on the TV, watched for some time and then switched it off. He started vandalising the cupboard and stole items in the house, took them outside after which he went to my mother’s room,” she said.
The eight-year-old girl pointed at Sigei when she testified that she was also defiled by the accused.
“That man ordered me to remove all my clothes before beating me. He then forced himself on me. He abused me,” she said.
Sigei is being charged together with Simon Rotich on charges of robbing and killing Peter Bore and his daughter Judy Chepkorir.
