President Uhuru Kenyatta and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi's latest relationship point at a possible union in the making, political analyst Dismas Mokua has said.
Despite not being politically close since the 2013 polls, the two appear closer lately, which came into public attention last week, when they visited Garissa County together.
Mokua says that the fact that the two even flew on the same chopper for the launch of the Modika Barracks and Garissa Solar Power Plant in Balambala makes the thought stronger.
“His presence at the launch of the barracks and the Solar project with the President kilometres away after flying with him in the same chopper is quite telling, it only signals bigger things,” he told the Sunday Standard.
He stated that though the two have been together for years, before their parting ways before their 2013 polls, their reunion could be having a deeper meaning.
More interesting, his observation comes only three years to the 2022 general polls, where Mudavadi has expressed his interest in succeeding Uhuru, who is expected to retire.
Already, Mudavadi's allies have embarked on strengthening his bid ahead of time, with the ANC women group, under the theme 'elect Mudavadi for prosperity' leading the way.
“We are meeting women countrywide and the campaign is encouraging. Majority of Kenyan women have pledged their support for the ANC party leader,” said Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala in Kitale on Friday.
