Lawyer Makau Mutua has said that Deputy President William Ruto did not deliver the voters from Rift Valley Voting bloc to Jubilee in 2013.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL show, Makau said that the voters stood with Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta because they were ICC suspects and nothing more.
Makau stated that the voters had to sympathize with the duo before electing them into office.
He said that Ruto has no moral authority to claim that he ensured that Jubilee wins most seats as well as presidency when he agreed to support Uhuru for power."
It’s difficult to say that Mr. Ruto delivered the Rift Valley, I would say that the Rift Valley voted for Ruto & Kenyatta & the reason why that part of the country voted for them is that they were besieged by the International Criminal Court ICC..." he said.
Makau also said that Deputy President will not ascend to power after Uhuru completes his second and final term in government.
He claimed that the second in command has been linked to massive corruption, which has tainted his name.
He further said that Ruto has no way to redeem himself to win the Presidency since his past is dark.
