They scored 3 unanswered goals against Uganda taking them on top of their group that also includes Ethiopia and Djibouti.

The 3 goals were scored by the usual players, Mercy Airo, Mwanahalima Jereko, and Jentrix Shikangwa.

The impressive results came hardly 2 weeks after they were bundled out of the 2020 Tokyo, Japan Olympics qualification campaign by the Copper Queens of Zambia.

They lost 1-0 in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, the results seeing them to the knockout stage.

Harambee Starlets went into the CECAFA Women's Challenge as one of the favourites.

Football loving Kenyans expect them to lift the trophy as a consolation for their ejection from the Olympics qualifiers.
