Speaking form the Speaker's sear on Friday, Muturi adviced the legislators in the House to work towards developing some a thick skin as not all things said about them will be nice.

He said that no Parliament in the world is popular and that parliamentarians are targets of critics who are everywhere from people who they defeated in elections.

"Even those lists, there were people who were with you in those lists, those of you who were nominated, and they never made it. They are not happy. There are others who have always looked at you as no-do-gooders, so, I mean, you just have to develop some interesting skin, I don't want to explicitly say the thick one but some skin that allows you to read criticism, take it for whatever it is and still proceed with your core mandate, "Muturi said.

He urged the lawmakers to focus on their core mandate which is to make laws and not be distracted by critics, saying that there will always be criticism.
