Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Thursday visited the family of late veteran Maasai politician Mzee Daniel Kasirimo Ole Muyaa.
The former Prime Minister said the death of the politician is a big blow to the nation as he condoled with the family.
He interacted with several leaders from the Maasai community during the visit.
“Condoled with the family of the late Mzee Daniel Kasirimo Ole Muyaa, former Chairman Olkejuado County Council at his Olkinos home in Kajiado County. May the Lord grant them strength at this difficult moment and may his soul Rest in Peace,” Raila said.
Muyaa, who died at 74 was a Maasai community elder and civic leader in Kajiado.
Before his demise, he worked as the chairperson of Olkejuado County Council.
Leaders in the country led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have already passed their message of condolence to the family.
“Mzee Ole Muyaa was a man of the people. He was an ardent fighter for the rights and the welfare of wananchi. It was due to his leadership skills that he was able to serve for a long period as the chairman of Olkejuado County Council and the chairman of the then Association of Local Government Authorities," the president said.
