Mombasa county governor Hassan Joho on Sunday urged residents of the coastal region to unite and support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Joho who was speaking in Malindi pointed out that the people from the region would benefit more from the recommendations in the report.
According to the county boss, the coastal region had been ignored in development matters and top national leadership positions and claimed that the BBI report will help in solving some of the problems that the region has been facing for a long time.
According to Citizen TV, Joho hinted at a possible rally to talk about the BBI.
"If God enables us to be alive when the time to discuss the BBI comes, we shall come to Tana RIver and Malindi. The most important thing is not what is there now but what we shall agree to be included in the BBI. All our concerns including historical injustices and our plans for the future. To look at how we shall liberate ourselves from economic marginlization, we shall talk about it. (Kasema inshalla Mungu katupatia uhai, wakati wa kuzungumza BBI, tutakuja Tana River, tutakuja Malindi, muhimu si yale yalioyoko sasa. Muhimu ni makubaliano yetu sisi, yale mambo ambayo twayataka yatiwe ndani ya BBI. Mambo yetu yote ya historical injustices dhuluma ya kihistoria, mipango ya siku za usoni kuangalia namna tutajikomboa kutoka katika economic marginalization, tutazungumza sasa)," Joho stated in a report shared by CItizen TV on Twitter.
