Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki has hit out a section Uasin Gishu politicians whom he has accused dividing locals on tribal lines.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Thursday, the billionaire businessman said Uasin Gishu is a cosmopolitan county and anyone has the right to vie for any seat.
“I am giving a warning to a section of Uasin Gishu leaders spreading politics of hatred and branding others as outsiders that their days are numbered since Kenyans are tired of their tribal politics,” said Buzeki.
He wondered why some leaders could tell the electorates not to vote for a particular leader only because he/she does not come from their tribe.
“Let us compete basing on our manifestos and let the electorates decide their appropriate leader. Name calling will not help the electorates but instead divide them," said Buzeki who also hit out at the Jubilee Party leadership for not condemning leaders who were perpetrating tribal politics.
Buzeki unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in the 2017 general elections as an independent ticket.
He is expected to vie for the seat in the 2022 general elections on a Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) ticket after ditching the Jubilee party citing frustrations from individuals close to the Deputy President William Ruto.
