This is after the students went berserk causing rampage in the school on Sunday night.

The irate students smashed windows as others escaped from school.

Police from Tala Police Post were forced to guard the school throughout the night to prevent further unrest.

Tala OCS Samuel Nguyo said a half of the students had escaped from the school.

Speaking to this writer on the phone on Monday, Matungulu sub county education director Rose Musembi said investigations into the incidents will be conducted after schools re-open in September.

Musembi said the students had to be released to go home since half of them had already left the school after the chaos.

"Investigations will be conducted later, for now we can't afford to have the students at school in such a situation that's why we had to release them as soon as possible," Musembi said.

She said reasons for the unrest had not been established.

Last year, the same students walked in protest to county education offices in Machakos town claiming they wanted the school's principal transferred since he had overstayed in the institution.
