Speaking during Radio Citizen's Jambo Kenya show on Wednesday, Okoth who is the elder brother of the late Ken Okoth revealed that his ambitions were triggered after a public demand from the Kibra residents.

According to him, he was not so much interested to fill the gap but after intervention from the residents, he declared his bid.

''When my late brother Ken Okoth died, I was not interested to lead the people of Kibra but as we were touring Kibra after Ken Okoth's burial, the residents of Kibra insisted that I should continue leading from where my brother had stopped.

He has further cleared the air after reports went round that he was being fronted by ODM communication director Philip Etale.

''I was not connected by Etale Philip,i won the nominations without bribing. We have never talked face to face with Etale Philip (Sikuunganishwa na @EtalePhilip , hizi nominations nilipata bila kuhonga hata shilingi.

Imran triumphed the other nine ODM aspirants during the primaries and he was awarded the ODM certificate on Tuesday, thereafter cleared by IEBC to contest for the seat.

His campaign trail will be headed by Junet Mohammed.
