Saumu pointed out that the beautiful kid had gone through a lot which informed her decision to adopt her.

"Yesterday I met such a beautiful Angel at Hearts Children's home, a child so pure and innocent but what she has gone through left me so broken and in tears. I agreed and vowed that she will be my responsibility and a new member of my family for the rest of my life. I am so happy that I’m going to be a mother to such a beautiful soul...May God guide and protect this little Angel for me always," she said

Saumu has one biological child.

Other high profile individuals in the country including Governor Sonko, Deputy President William Ruto have also adopted children from children's homes.

Governor Sonko adopted a daughter 13 years ago. She recently graduated from Daystar University.

Saumu, who is currently dating Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip, recently revealed how her baby daddy used to mistreat her.

She pointed out that she was in a violent relationship that caused her to sink into depression.

Saumu decided to end the relationship and raise her daughter as a single parent.
