Kisumu Judge Thripsisa Cherere on Thursday ordered that the county boss and his sister Risper Nyagoy be arrested for disobeying numerous court orders in a property row.

He also ordered a one-month civil jail term for both, for as ignoring an order to pay Sh400, 000 fine in a  property case pitting them against their nephews.

It has emerged that the duo on Thursday moved swiftly and paid the fines which were imposed in May, and filed an application against their arrest.

They pleaded with the court to let them remain free, which has also been confirmed by Nyong'o's Communications Director Alloyce Ager.

"The governor's lawyers are, however, still working on the case and the status remains as before," he told the Nation on Friday.

However, County Commander Benson Maweu who has denied receiving any order stopping the planned arrest says that he has put measures in place to arrest the two.

"The governor is in Nakuru, but I have placed my officers in strategic points ready to execute the order," he said.
