Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi and his Makueni counterpart Mutula Kilonzo Junior on Wednesday differed over the forthcoming census exercise.
It all started when Wamatangi said that the exercise will ensure that counties with a large population will reap big from the allocation of the National Government.
He said that some of the counties have been benefitting from the national cake while other get less from the same.
"The Census Results will show the correct population data in all the 47 counties. It will mark the end of resources being allocated to sparely populated regions at the expense of the densely populated areas. Be Counted; 24-31 Aug 2019," he said.
The remarks of the senator, however, did not augur well with Mutula. The Wiper politician came forth and faulted Wamatangi over the sentiments.
He reminded him that all Kenyans are equals and census is not meant to sideline some regions in the name of population.
He asked the senator to reconsider his school of thought on the matter after the remarks.
“This statement is wrong In so many ways . No one is less of a Kenyan . This narrative is euphemism for discrimination that was behind sessional paper no 10 of 1965,” he replied to the Tweet.
