Deputy President Dr William Ruto revisited his current relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking to Ken Mijungu on Thursday, Ruto dismissed the comparison between the closeness the duo had during the first term. According to the DP, a change from matching dressing to skipping some Presidential functions is a not an issue that should receive much attention.
"Ken. I have heard many stories and I have read many headlines. The marriage has died, the bromance and love. My friend, Uhuru Kenyatta is married to Margaret, I am married to Rachel. There is no marriage business here.
"We were elected by the people of Kenya to do a job; Uhuru Kenyatta as the President and me as his assistant. What you should be asking me is, 'are you delivering on the job you were given by Kenyans?'," Ruto told Ken Mijungu.
Ruto also revealed that he supported President Uhuru Kenyatta's Presidential bid for the sake of Kenyan unity as opposed to the notion that he has to be supported come 2022.
"I supported President Kenyatta not because I wanted him to support me thereafter. I never gave him a condition and I never made a claim. One thing that I know about him is that he is going to support a Jubilee Party candidate when time comes," he said.
