The vocal leader took to Facebook on Wednesday to explain the reason behind it.

He attributed the green colour to his love for environment which is destroyed daily and the strips of the Kenyan flag symbolises patriotism in Kenya that has seen people live together in harmony.

"My green suit signifies the need to conserve our environment by planting more trees not only in government gazetted forests but also in our private lands. The flag stripes signifies the need for Kenyans to be patriotic because fate and destiny brought us together within Kenya boundaries," Ole Sankok posted.

In a Facebook video, the MP advises the government to construct dams which can store water for use during the dry season.

"If Kimwarer and Aror Dam were constructed here, it could help the residents to store water for livestock during the dry season since we at times buy water when drought strike. The water flows freely to Ewaso Nyiro then to Lake Natron without us storing it," he said.

He further urged the Maasai community to plant trees which will reduce the velocity of water and increase infiltration.

This, the MP said, could prevent the current situation experienced in the area where water has flooded many homes.
