A section of youths from Bonchari Constituency in Kisii has accused area MP John Oroo Oyioka of missing in action for a while now.
According to the youths led by Bonchari youth leader Moses Magare, the unavailability of the MP in his office has made difficult for them to have their issues solved.
He questioned why the MP has reneged on his promise to meet constituents every so often.
“There is no doubt that Oroo promised us that he will be conducting public forums across the constituency as well as ward levels after every two months to know our problems but that hasn’t been happening and we are wondering why he is missing to deliver his duties,” said Magare at Suneka Hall on Tuesday.
Magare called on the MP to focus on youth empowerment and developing infrastructure in the constituency. He noted that feeder roads in the area are in dilapidated condition.
“We want him to ensure that the youths are empowered and to ensure that we can reach him at ease and discuss matters concerning Bonchari development or else we will organize for weekly demos to ensure that he wakes up and deliver,” he added.
The MP, however, could not be reached on phone to comment on the matter.
