In a post on Facebook, Mutua said that he is saddened by the way the media is portraying the country in a bad light.

The moral cop said that news reporters should also concentrate on positive things and not just negative stories. He retorted that there are many positive things that happen in the country but the media rarely wants to talk about them.

“But when news becomes horror movies full of depressing, obscene scenes and vulgar language, then I think Parliament should change the law for us to ensure that news does not ignore happy stories while over concentrating on negativities," he said.

Mutua further said that there rise of obscene shows on media has become a subject of concern. He noted that programs such as 10/10 are eroding the morals of society. He further said that the government should put in place measures to bar media from airing inappropriate content.

“Just obscenity, negativity, sideshows, murder and politics of insults. Granted, negative stories are not cooked and as they say, bad news sells, but the media must be responsible and not over-play negative stories at the expense of good news and development,” he said.
