According to K24, Pastor Elisha Misiko of the Grounds for God Gospel 3G Ministry in Bamburi, stabbed his wife, Ann Mughoi at the pulpit.

While confirming the incident, Kisauni Sub-County Police Commander Julius Kiragu said the wife sustained serious injuries at the back and at hand.

"A number of people have recorded statements. We can confirm that the incident was due to the wife trying to edge the husband out of the church which he struggled to build," Kiragu said as quoted by Nation.

Eyewitnesses say that the "Man of God"  had aimed at his wife's heart but she swiftly managed to block the knife which ended up severely injuring her hand.

The pastor would later slit his throat, bringing the church to a standstill.

Nation reports that police who visited the church found a 10-page death notice, which gives a clue to the couple's troubled marriage.

In the said notice, the pastor had accused his wife of trying to take over the leadership of the church which he had struggled to build and grow.

The 10:00 am event left the helpless congregation disgusted as the house of God was turned into a scene of a crime.

The severely injured wife was rushed to the Coast General Hospital with the pastor's body also taken to the same facility's mortuary.
