Marianne Kitany now wants a bitter divorce case pitting her against Meru Senator Mithika Linturi discontinued so that she can mourn the passing of the senator's father-in-law.
Senator Linturi has, however, objected to her estranged wife's application for adjournment.
According to media reports, she intends to travel to Meru so that she can be part of the burial arrangements.
The development comes just a day after she faced gruelling cross-examination by Linturi's lawyer.
Kitany has been seeking out of a marriage with the former Igembe South MP citing Linturi's infidelity.
The divorce case has attracted massive publicity due to its salacious details that Kitany has not shied away from spewing.
Linturi told the court hearing the divorce case that the two were not married and that Kitany was just a visitor who had overstayed her welcome.
