Mr Odinga has been receiving government delegations, raising suspicions about his role in Jubilee administration ever since reconciling with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Public Service, Youth and Gender boss Margaret Kobia led a delegation from her Ministry to Mr Odinga's office where they discussed government affairs.

According to Mr Odinga, Kobia briefed him on the preparations ahead of International Youth Day. Mr Odinga is AU High Representative for Infrastructural Development.

"Hosted Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs @CSMargaretKobia who briefed me on the preparations being undertaken for the upcoming International Youth Day," he said.

Last month, Odinga's spokesman Dennis Onyango conceded that the veteran leader is being consulted on some of government related issues.

“Officially, his role is that of the AU infrastructure representative and relevant government agencies have been told to work with him and facilitate his travel wherever he goes,” Mr Onyango said.

Trade and Industrialization CS Peter Munya, also a frequent visitor at Capitol Hill, revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta instructed all ministers to consult Odinga on various matters.

“Don’t ask the obvious,” responded Mr Munya when we asked him about Mr Odinga’s role in the Kenyatta administration.

“People have to face the reality. There’s no need to read politics. If we are to unite the country, we should work with everyone and spread development everywhere, including areas perceived to be opposition zones.”
