Kirinyaga Governor appealed directly to the members of the Kikuyu community as she descended on Kibra Constituency on Sunday as the curtains of the official campaign period came down.
She urged Kikuyus in Kibra, whose number stands at just over 20,000, to cast their ballots for the ODM party candidate Imran Okoth.
"I am requesting you our people, on 7th, to come out in your numbers and vote for the handshake, "she said. (2:24-2:42)
She went on to tell the Kikuyus that the government was behind the ODM candidate and that they stood a better chance of getting development if they vote in Imran.
Raila has embraced the tactic of using leaders to reach out to specific communities in a bid to assure them that their concerns will be taken care of if the ODM candidate is elected.
The Kibra by-election will take place on Thursday this week as scheduled by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
