Embattled Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has accused the Amani National Congress party of persecuting him without any substantive reason.
The Musalia Mudavadi-led party suspended Mr Malala a fortnight ago, accusing him of breaching various rules and regulations of the party.
Among others, Malala was accused of campaigning for ODM candidate Imran Okoth in Kibra by-election despite the fact that ANC had fielded Eliud Owalo.
But on Saturday, the youthful senator accused ANC of disrespecting him, adding that he has since forgiven the party leadership.
However, Malala, who is keen to succeed Governor Wycliffe Oparanya in 2022, said he will not tolerate the party's questionable actions in future.
"I have been persecuted, rejected by the Amani National Congress people but I want to tell them today that I have forgiven them. Don't ever repeat the mistakes because I'll deal with you perpendicularly," he tweeted.
His statement came barely hours after a section of ODM leaders in Kakamega reprimanded SG Edwin Sifuna for allegedly asking Malala to resign and join the party.
Led by Deputy Speaker Leonard Kasaya, the leaders accused Mr Sifuna of undermining the county leadership.
“We would like to ask our Party Leader Raila Odinga and his deputy Wycliffe Oparanya to stop Sifuna from claiming that he will be dishing out party certificates to his friends who are not even members of the party,” said Kasaya as quoted by Standard.
The leaders accused Sifuna of planning to wreck the party in Kakamega by fighting the branch leadership whose chairman is Deputy Governor Philip Kutima.
