The man, whose identity has not been revealed, reportedly took his car to the facility before he descended and murdered one Kelvin Mbugua, 26 after stabbing him on the chest several times.

Confirmed the incident, Murang’a County Criminal Investigations boss Juliana Muthini said the probe into the matter has already kicked off. The police boss said that the detectives are using his phone to trace him as the family asks for justice following the tragic incident.

The suspect allegedly took five beers before paid the bill through M-Pesa. The police boss also said that it remains unclear why the man decided to take the life of the attendant.

“We do not understand why a stranger who had never visited the car wash before would kill the attendant. The two never had a quarrel, we are doing everything possible to apprehend him and charge him with murder,” she said.

A witness, Paul Ndirang’u, said that man left the car wash to the nearby to drink only to back after forty minutes and offered the attendant Sh.300 before asking him to deduct Sh.250. The man later came back and stabbed the attendant before he sped off.
