Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has opined that Kenyans would opt to support the Punguza Mizigo referendum push instead of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
According to Sudi, Punguza Mizigo resonates well with most Kenyans because it is an initiative that seeks to address the real problems facing poor Kenyans and doesn't advocate for selfish interests of a few politicians.
The lawmaker made the remarks during a function in Ngeria in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County on Friday.
Sudi pledged support for the initiative being spearheaded by Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot, arguing that if Kenyans were to be allowed to make a choice between BBI and Punguza Mizigo, majority of them would pick the latter.
He argued that this is because the initiative is being spearheaded by an 'ordinary Turkana who had decided to save the country'.
"They know Ekuru Aukot is an ordinary Turkana who has decided to save this country (Wanajua huyu Ekuru Aukot ni Mturkana tu ameamua kuokoa Kenya hii)," said Sudi.
The vocal MP alleged that the BBI is the brainchild of the dynasties in the country.
The lawmaker opined that poor Kenyans and hustlers were more in number compared to the dynasties, adding that they will be voted out in the upcoming 2022 polls.
