A 16-year-old boy has died in a road accident along Thika - Garrisa Highway in Yatta, Machakos County.
The minor was hit by a speeding lorry at Iviani area on Thursday night.
Confirming the incident, Yatta police boss Edward Changach said the deceased had just alighted from a probox vehicle when the incident occurred.
Changach said an argument arose between the boy and probox driver before the lorry knocked him down.
"The boy got into an argument with the probox driver after alighting from the car when he was hit by the lorry. Sadly, he died on the spot," Changach said.
He said the boy died on the spot after he was hit by the lorry that was headed to Matuu after its driver lost control of the vehicle.
The body was moved to Yatta Funeral Home while the lorry's wreckage towed to Matuu Police Station.
Changach warned drivers to be vigilant on the road to avert accidents.
"Be sober on the road and be cautious of other road users to avoid causing accidents that could have been avoided," Changach said.
He said police had launched investigations into the incident.
