More than 1600 needy students from Thika constituency have benefited from Sh 9 million bursary funds.
Area MP Alice Ng’ang’a said that she was dedicated towards improving education and investing in it for many residents in the region to benefit.
She added that the needy students have been emerging the brightest in the schools and she will not let any of them suffer in acquiring education.
Ng’ang’a said that she is delighted with the turn out of the parents towards the application of the bursary funds and said that she will not relent in supporting anyone who approaches her with a problem of the same.
CDF chairman Ephraim Njihia said that they vetted the groups in good faith and most of them qualified, with only a few having been disqualified.
Njihia added that those that were disqualified by the vetting committee should re-apply immediately to ensure they are prioritised in the next month’s disbursement process.
The beneficiaries were Primary and Secondary schools students with the day scholars walking away with Sh 4,000 each while the Boarding students receiving Sh 6,000 each.
