In a statement, Nairobi County Secretary and Head of Public Service Leboo ole Morintat directed the employees to wear suits from Monday to Thursday.

However, Morintant noted that the employees have an option of wearing suits on Friday or being casually dressed, which includes wearing the county branded t-shirts.

The official dress code will include a full or broken suit for men, while women will be required to wear a full or broken suit or a dress.

“It has been noted with great concern that most of the county staffs have not been following the dress code during the official working hours, which contravenes the code of conduct as outlined in the public service regulation.

The code of conduct outlines general rules of conduct to be observed by a public officer so as to maintain integrity,” said Morintat, as quoted by Nairobi news.

Failure to comply with the directive will attract disciplinary action.

The Nairobi County Government under the leadership of Governor Mike Sonko seeks to transform the city and deliver quality services to residents.

Sonko has on various occasions stated that he won't tolerate any form of impunity, disciplinary case or corruption among his staff.

The county boss recently suspended 15 members of staff following the Precious Talent School tragedy that claimed the lives of eight students.
