Speaking during an interview on NTV on Tuesday, the senator said the county bosses should have looked for other ways to solve the stalemate rather than seeking legal redress.

He argued that the governors have taken the wrong route as far as solving the issue is concerned.

Wamatangi opined that the county bosses have clearly shown that leaders cannot sit down and agree on anything until they seek assistance from the courtrooms.

“As a senator, I find it unbelievable that governors are taking the role that we should have taken ourselves. We are the ones who should have been in the streets going to court,” he said.

Wamatangi, who has been very vocal on matters of national interest, said they had room to discuss and find a way to help the tax payers, but the governors thought they can use a different channel to get what they feel they deserve.

“They (governors) have come to rescue a situation that we should have dealt with ourselves,” he added.

The governors’ move come after Deputy President William Ruto urged them not to go to court but they defied him.
