Head of delegation Douglas Bosire, who doubles as County Executive in charge of health, termed the trip as 'fruitful and eye-opener'.

"We have managed to strategically position H.E Governor Nyagarama's government at the global arena on matters development and partnership," he told this writer on phone from Prague on Monday.

The fourth meeting at Prague, Bosire said, is a continuation of earlier conferences aimed at expanding the county's partnership scope.

The health boss said the meetings also helps the county to explore various avenues of collaboration with foreign partners on matters development.

The team met Radomir Spinks, who is the country Director ADRA Czech Republic and the Director for Finance in Prague, Madam Mirka.

"The Czech Republic, agreed to expand services offered at Itibo Health Center to other facilities across the county  and the delegation has managed to help Nyamira County expand her partnership scope,"  Bosire added

Enock Okero, the assembly health committee chair, hailed the trip as a 'major success'.

The Manga MCA said the delegation has already received an invitation from other countries willing to extend support to Nyamira and Kenya.

Earlier, Bosire's team held talks with Mongi Msolly, the President of the Slovak National Cardiology Hospital which conducts more than 1200 open heart surgeries per year.

"With Nyamira County Referral Hospital currently having a Cardio unit conducting Echocardiograms and Electrocardiograms, the new focus is to establish a catheterization laboratory and cardiology ICU," Bosire said.

The health boss added that this will eventually support a functional heart operating unit at NCRH.

"The discussions revolved around both equipment and technical support towards the attainment of this objective and they gave us several commitments and action plans whose doability were agreed upon," he noted.

Governor John Nyagarama had earmarked Health as one of his agendas as he seeks to cement his legacy ahead of 2022.

The external partnerships have greatly boosted the governor's agenda.

Already, the Polish government has been helping the health department, including supporting the equipping of Nyansiongo Sub County Hospital.
