The retired Situma is the President of the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA).

He joined Zetech University on Thursday for a course in Business Administration.

"I am proud to join Zetech and pursue a two year certificate in Business Administration as a foundational programme then later take a three year Diploma in Sports Management. I believe this is the right time as I am not actively playing and leading an organization like KEFWA needs enhanced expertise to take it to the next level,” he said

Speaking after Situma joined the institution, Zetech University Vice Chancellor Prof Njenga Munene said the institution is ready to work with sports men and women to make them better managers.

“We are proud to absorb Situma and empower him to invent his future through quality education that will contribute to his leadership at KEFWA. As a University, we are keen on working with the sports sector in their areas of interest even as they sharpen their skills on the field," he said.

The 35-year-old was a journeyman during his playing days, after featuring for various teams in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).

He played for Nzoia Sugar, Nairobi City Stars, Sofapaka, AFC Leopards and Tusker FC. He also played for KF Tirana in Albania.

His most successful time as a player was witnessed at Sofapaka, as he was part of the squad that won the 2009 KPL title, the 2009 President’s cup and the Super Cup in 2009 and 2010.

He earned 32 caps with Harambee Stars, after receiving his first call up in 2007. Situma announced retirement from active football in August this year.
