Normally, people are known to be fond of travelling a lot during festive seasons in order to rejoin with their loved ones.
Also, this is the best time where people take advantage of celebrating together as a family.
However, this year is likely not to be the same as in other years. There are a number of things that tend to curtail people from travelling from one place to another just to meet and celebrate with their loved ones.
Here are some of the reasons;
1. The high cost of living
This year has been one of the toughest that people have got to face. The high cost of living and the presence of a poor economy is one of the main reason as to why people are not going to travel this festive season. Unlike before where the economy was favourable and the cost of living was better, a good number of people at least had some extra coins to close their businesses and go celebrate.
2. The change in the educational system
Unlike in a few years ago where both class eight and form four leavers used to join the next level in the month of February and May/September, this time it is different because the change has resulted to students joining form one in January. With such change, it has been hard for the parents with the listed students to travel having in mind that they are supposed to find money early enough for their children to join the next level of education.
3. Bad weather
Due to heavy rain that has been experienced in different parts of the country, this festive season, people will be lenient to travel. Most people are in fear of travelling due to floods in most areas.
