United States of America's President Donald Trump has appealed to the Ukrainian government led by President Volodymyr Zelensky to assist the U.S in investigating her former vice president Joe Biden.
In a 30-minute phone conversation between the two presidents, Trump begged Mr Zelensky to work with his government and inquire about Biden's alleged corruption case.
Previously, Trump has claimed that Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden engaged in corruption while the two had dealings in Ukraine.
"There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it ... It sounds horrible to me," Trump said it the conversation released by the White House on Wednesday and quoted by CNN News.
“I would like you to do us a favor because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it,” he added.
The two heads of states also agreed to work together as Zelensky assured Trump that the next Ukraine's prosecutor will be his confidant.
"The next Prosecutor General will be 100 percent my person, my candidate,” Mr. Zelensky assured Mr Trump. “He or she will look into the situation," he added as quoted by New York Times.
