Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has encouraged embattled former Agriculture Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri not to despair after he was fired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Khalwale reminded Kiunjuri that better days lie ahead. He asked him to fight to the end after he was shown the door in a dramatic manner.
“Take it easy my brother Hon Mwangi Kiunjuri. Your best days lie in the future. Aluta continua," he tweeted.
While sacking Kiunjuri, the head of state reiterated that he is committed to change the lives of Kenyans before he leaves office.
The sacking of the CS came after he was put on the spot over locusts invasion, tea prices, fertilizer prices, importation of cheap produce and other challenges facing the sector.
On his part, Kiunjuri insisted that he played his part saying he foresaw his sacking.
"The President’s decision has taken me by no surprise, I thank God, I feel relieved. I have endured lots of humiliation, only God and my family know this. I have given my best in my assignment, I leave with my head high," he said.
