David Mutwiwa a warden told this writer on Wednesday that they have put in place measures to contain the animal.

"Yes we established its a cheetah we are only waiting for it to strike you know it's a fast-moving animal it's not easy to keep track of it, "said Mutwiwa on phone.

He noted that it's possible the cheetah escaped from one of the ranches in Machakos.

" We have several ranches in Machakos such as Late Mutula Kilonzo's ranch, Kapiti ranch among others the animal could have strayed from any of them in a bid to hunt food," he said.

He urged residents to report in case they see any wild animal so that they can take action.

"I would like to ask residents to report immediately if there is an attack by a wild animal or even if they see any wild animal roaming around so that we may take the necessary action," he said.

On Sunday night 14 goats were killed and their blood sucked by this animal thus prompting the KWS to swing in action.
