There is roughly 10 percent of left-handed people in the world. Being the minority, there are myths associated with them. However, most of these myths are not true as there is no scientific backing to the claims.
These myths are:
1. Left-handed people are more likely to be leaders
Six of US presidents, including Barack Obama, have been left-handed. Closer home, president Uhuru Kenyatta is also left-handed. As a result, there are myths that allude that left-handed people are more likely to be leaders. It is just a myth that cannot be proven scientifically.
2. Left-handed people are creative and intelligent
The link between creativity and intellect in reference to left-handed people has never been established. There are isolated incidents where exceptionally gifted artistes such as Leonardo da Vinci were found to be left-handed. This does not represent the whole population as there are right-handed people with exceptional creativity as well as intellect.
3. Left-handed people are more likely to die young
One of the reasons why left-handed people, as studies have claimed, die young is because most tools are designed for right-handed people. As a result, there are prone to accidents as compared to right-handed people. However, this is just a myth as left-handed people live as long as right-handed people.
