With the increasing number of graduates and the decreasing number of opportunities, everyone is in darkness about who to blame between the graduates and the education system the learners undergo.

Tens of thousands graduate every year, yet only a smaller number is being absorbed into the few opportunities available.

It is the high time that government considered revising the education system, or else learners tune their minds otherwise.

It is usually an expectation for every learner that life will be good after graduation. Were it not the case, then it would beat logic learners having to waste so much so as to attain the degrees and all that.

Recently, we have seen the government's attempt to replace the 8-4-4 system with another one dubbed Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Another big problem and mostly a contributing factor are graduates being too selective about what they need. The mediocrity about some jobs being meant for the illiterate might be a reason why frustration will always be part of the graduates.

Unless learners develop a new perspective when they look into things, there might always exist a struggle for the few white-collar jobs, from the many competitors yet but limited opportunities.

Learners must be taught that no job is tailored for any specific person. They must always learn to take whichever opportunity that comes their way, lest frustration becomes a better part of them.

We have witnessed illiterates turn millionaires just by choosing the menial jobs despised by the learned. We have seen PhD holders die poor while Class Eight and Form Four leavers command graduates.

The government must also devise a way of introducing practical related courses creating entrepreneurs rather than giving courses which tie the learners solely to employments.
