President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday donated a school bus to the Salvation Army Likoni High School for the visually impaired. Uhuru was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and several government officials when he made the donation.
The move came as part of the Big Four Agenda of the head of state as he seeks to leave behind a legacy when he completes his term in office. Statehouse confirmed the donation of the school bus.
“Earlier, President Uhuru Kenyatta handed over a new school bus to Salvation Army Likoni High School for the visually impaired at a brief ceremony held at State House, Mombasa. #Mashujaa2019,” State House Tweeted.
Besides education, Uhuru also highlighted that his government is committed towards transforming Mombasa and other parts of the nation’s infrastructure. He noted that his government has put in place several measures to ensure there is growth and development since he took over the office in 2013. The president highlighted some of the projects he has started in Mombasa and its environs.
“In Mombasa County, the transformation continues to redefine the face of the county through the recently-completed road projects: Miritini, Mwache, Kipevu New Container link road and Moi International Airport access road and Port Reitz, while the following other projects are on the verge of completion, that is: Mariakani highway and dualing of Magongo road,” he said in his speech.
Uhuru promised to initiate more projects before he retires.
