Cabinet Secretary in charge of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Joe Mucheru has shocked many after he reappointed a dead member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB).
In a gazette notice on Thursday, the CS reappointed Robert Kochalle to continue serving in the KFCB board for another three years.
Kochalle died in May 2018, while undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan University Hospital, and was buried a week later at his Nanyuki home.
Reacting to the re-appointment, Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga described it as the 'theatre of the absurd'.
"Hon Robert Kochalle passed away three years ago (may his soul RIP). Today the (dis)appointing authority has appointed him to the board of Kenya Film Classification Board. Theatre of the absurd," she tweeted.
Renowned lawyer and Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi ridiculed the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee administration saying it will rule for a century.
"Jubilee.. just to show how fair and visionary it is has appointed a dead Kenyan to be a board member of a state corporation...take it from me...at this rate my beloved party Jubilee will rule Kenya for another 100 years...," he posted.
On his part, former Mandera Senator Billow Kerrow said the appointment of a dead man proved Jubilee was broken and beyond repair.
"To suggest this government isn't dysfunctional will be an understatement!" Kerrow said.
