Buzeki tossed himself into politics for the first time in 2017, where he ran for governorship on an independent ticket but lost to the incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago.

Buzeki has since started preparing himself for another round of the competition. He is likely to use a number of tricks in order to capture the seat in 2022.

First, he will be relying on the power of Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party, which he is taking part in revamping.

Further, the businessman could convince a section of disaffectionate Jubilee members who think they have been let down by Mandago's government to support his agenda, by giving them hope of a better future.

He is on the record saying that there are many people who feel disgruntled by the current administration and they do not want to be held hostage, an indication that he could be planning on wooing them to his camp.

Buzeki could still use his established networks of youths, the elderly and business associates who he has been meeting in the county to canvass for support.

He could also help the party in recruiting more grassroot and national aspirants, who will, in turn,  help him further his agenda and policies in the county.
