Embu County Assembly Members are now pointing an accusing finger at Governor Martin Wambora over the crisis evident at Embu Level Five Referral hospital.
The hospital has been hit by under-staffing issues as well as shortage for drugs.
Embu County Assembly Health Committee chair Muturi Mwombo told Nation that the hospital was in crisis, pointing out that Wambora's administration had totally failed in ensuring the facility's proper running and equipping.
Mwombo also noted that the facility was lacking oxygen thus hindering its full operations, since it is controlled by cartels.
The Ruguru-Nyandori ward representative revealed that a special meeting would soon be convened to find the way out.
"MCAs will not sit and watch while the facility that benefits thousands of residents go to waste," said the MCA.
Embu Senator Njeru Ndwiga last Saturday expressed his dissatisfaction on how the government was discharging poor services.
He lamented how the hospital lacked equipment and drugs in addition to being under-staffed.
"Patients are being sent to private pharmacies now that the facility lacks drugs. Even getting a bandage which can dress a wound is a big issue," Njeru told Nation.
The legislator dared the county government to come out and give an account for the expenditure based on the treasury allocation of Sh6billion channeled towards health sector every financial year.
"The government is too rich, yet health sector is in such a sorry state, with even no enough staff to treat people, with majority suffering back at home," added Njeru.
However, Health Executive Peter Waganagwa disowned the claims terming them as baseless.
