Vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna has launched a scathing attack on United States of America Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter, over the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) debate.
This is after the US envoy threw his weight behind the report by the BBI National Advisory Task-force, which was formed following the March 9, 2018, handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Miguna accused McCarter of double standards for having lauded the banning of Busia Senator Amos Wako from traveling to US, and at the same time endorsing a report which he (Wako) was part of writing.
Wako, his son and wife, were recently barred from visiting US over alleged links to corruption during his tenure as Attorney General.
Claiming he is a 'cartel', the exiled lawyer said for the envoy to ask Kenyans to back the BBI report, was akin to asking them to drink sulphuric acid.
"The US Ambassador Kenya is a cartel. He hailed the banning of Amos Wako from the US but supports other BBI cat walking con-men and con-women like Anne Waiguru, Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. Mr Ambassador, stop asking Kenyans to drink sulphuric acid," Miguna tweeted on Tuesday.
Speaking in Kapsabet, Nandi County, on Monday, McCarter termed the report as a 'good document', saying it will foster unity among citizens once its recommendations are implemented.
“The Unites States is a great friend of Kenya and, although I do not agree with all details in the BBI, the USA fully supports it for Kenya to remain a united country," the envoy said.
