Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has dared Kieleweke politicians to go ahead with their plans to impeach National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and his Senate counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.
Kieleweke refers to a section of Jubilee Party and ODM lawmakers who support the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The legislators have threatened to impeach Murkomen and Duale, who are close allies of Deputy President William Ruto and replace them with their colleagues.
Cheruiyot 'advised' Kieleweke leaders, who are Jubilee members, to call for a parliamentary group (PG) meeting, and move ahead with their plans of dethroning the two vocal politicians.
However, he warned them that the task won't be easy since Ruto's allies were ready not to let go of the seats.
"Advice to Kieleweke who are salivating on Murkomen and Duale's positions. It's very easy to kick them out. Just call a PG of the Jubilee Party and get members to do it as per our party's constitution. Godspeed. Be cautious though, don't start a war you cannot finish," Cheruiyot tweeted on Monday night.
The debate was ignited on Saturday during the Bukhungu rally by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala when he threatened to table a motion to change the House leadership.
Belgut MP Nelson Koech dismissed Malala as a nobody, adding there were no sufficient grounds to send the duo home.
“Who is Malala to suggest that the Jubilee House leadership should be changed? On what basis should the two be removed? These busybodies do not understand what Murkomen and Duale have done to the government,” Koech said.
