Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has weighed in on the alleged fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
In an interview with NTV on Thursday, Amisi said that that it is evident that the second in command is no longer part of the government.
He said that the DP has decided to tear the line between him and his boss. He noted that the DP enjoys the privilege that he cannot be sacked by the President no matter what happens.
He noted that the current constitution is not the same as the one Kenya was used during the era of former President Daniel Arap Moi.
"The reality is the Deputy President is no longer in government. You can choose to believe and you can choose not to believe that is the reality he is not in the government. The only thing that is aiding him to survive or clutching in the straw. You know there is this article the way it is used to be in the Moi’s regime. So enjoys the constitutional right", he said in part.
Ruto has been on record opposing a number of issues including tours to popularize the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) across the nation. He has termed the tours a waste of money and time.
