Business tycoon Manu Chandaria has promised to repair several schools to a tune of Sh10 million in honour of marathoner Eliud Kipchoge following his outstanding win in Vienna, Austria on Saturday.
Through the Chandaria Foundation, the businessman asked the athlete to choose schools he wants repaired once he jets back to the country.
Chandaria said he is proud of the athlete's performance, adding that he has made the country proud at the international level.“Congratulations on Kipchoge's win. Wow. To celebrate, Chandaria Foundation will provide Kenya shillings ten million of roofing to replace leaking roofs of the schools of his choice,” he said as quoted by Nairobi News. Meanwhile, Isuzu East Africa has also pledged to give the athlete an Isuzu pickup for free following the performance he showed in Vienna. Through its Managing Director Rita Kavashe, the motor vehicle company said the athlete made Kenyans proud during the challenge and deserves to be honoured in different ways.
Kipchoge made history on Saturday when he became the first human to run a full marathon in under two hours.
