The Orange Democratic Movement party maintained that it will continue to obey summonses issued by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

In a tweet on Friday, the party party insisted that her members are law abiding citizens, adding that they have no reasons to disrespect authorities.

Further, ODM said, members will not be detracted ahead of Kibra by-election. The IEBC has scheduled  November 7th for the mini poll.

Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, MPs Tom Kajwang', Timothy Wanyonyi and the party's Kibra aspirant Imran Okoth appeared before the commission.

Over the weekend, an official campaign vehicle for Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga was pelted with stones during the campaigns.

Jubilee party accused ODM of sponsoring violence, a move that forced IEBC to summon those involved. A section of ODM leaders were also accused of hate speech.

“You are hereby required within 24 hours from the date of service hereof to file a response to the said complaint. Should you fail to file a response and enter an appearance within the time mentioned above, the complaint will be heard and determined in your absence,” read the letter dated October 15 and signed by IEBC's acting Director Legal and Public Affairs, Ms Salome Oyugi.

Jubilee is keen to beat ODM in the race at a constituency which has traditionally supported ODM leader Raila Odinga. Mr Odinga led the region for 20 years when it was still under Lang'ata constituency.

Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino and his Suna East counterpart Junet Mohamed were accused of inciting locals against rival candidates and supporters.
