Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has evoked memories of tussles with Wiper party, dragging the 'watermelon' tag associated with Kalonzo Musyoka.
The name has been traditionally associated with indecisive people, who do not believe in certain ideological perceptions for the sake over growth.
In a tweet, Mr Sifuna hailed the Kamba community, arguing that they are not 'watermelons'. But according to him, only one of them is.
"Not all Kambas are watermelons wewe... Ni mmoja tu," he said without making reference to any particular politician.
On Saturday, Governors Charity Ngilu and Alfred Mutua pitched tent in Kibra where they campaigned for Imran Okoth, the ODM candidate in by-election.
However, Kalonzo Musyoka was conspicuously absent. Mr Musyoka supports Eng Ramadhan Khamisi of Ford Kenya party.
In the past, Musyoka has denied being a watermelon, insisting that he's part of leaders who make firm and informed decisions.
"There are some people who think that Kalonzo Musyoka does not take a position. Do you think I am a watermelon? That at night I have this position and in the morning another one," he said in August.
"This time I am going to be in the front line pushing for these changes. We must have a constitutional review," added the former Vice President.
