Leader of Majority at the Nyamira County Assembly Duke Masira has been kicked out following weeks of wrangles among MCAs.
Known to be a key ally of Governor John Nyagarama, Masira's woes were purely instigated by fellow MCAs who accused him of "cutting deals" without their knowledge.
At least 11 MCAs from the majority NASA coalition had signed ouster document which reportedly had blessings from ODM party.
NASA coalition has 21 members with the rest 15 coming from the Jubilee party.
Nominated MCA Innocent Mose told Hivisasa on Wednesday: "It's a done deal. Eleven have signed and we have invited him to formally inform him. In case he can't resign, we go ahead and kick him out."
According to him, while the signatures technically mean he has been removed, the MCAs are keen to drag a vote of no confidence, which has already attracted support from 25 of the 36 MCAs.
Former Majority Leader Raban Masira, who is expected to take over told Hivisasa on Tuesday that "We have done it. It will be formalised in our next budget committee sitting."
Jubilee nominated MCA George Mosiori posted in his timeline: "The despot has fallen. Thank you comrades for a nice job."
Mose said the team has informed Speaker Moffat Teya to steer clear of the current impasse, adding that Duke Masira's removal was inevitable.
Efforts to reach Masira for comment were futile but it's understood that he was lobbying for friendly MCAs to save him.
ODM lawyer Tony Moturi in a phone call on Tuesday said, "I have heard the claims but we are waiting for official communication from the NASA MCAs."
Among others, Masira, who is the Township MCA, is accused of allegedly pocketing some allowances payment for MCAs without informing them.
